The Terrapin Twilight criterium is an all-inclusive, bike-friendly event that spotlights amateur racing, BMX demonstrations, a kids zone, not to be missed unique events from Red Bull, music, a 5K Run/Walk, and Saturday night's main event - the professional men's and women's USA CRITS criterium races.

04.26.12: Pendlebury Takes 2nd Civic Center Crit:
ROANOKE, VA - April 26th, 2012: I felt a lot better and the race was a lot slower. Worked real hard and forgot how a crit works on the last lap but managed to place 5th against almost the same group of riders as the day before. Jeff wrecked hard as it was wet again today, and very cold. We had a great breakaway group but no one wanted to work with us. So with the race came to a field sprint as we were out smarted before the finish and left to chase the last 1000 meters. Jeff came around my lead-out for the chase for first but ran out of time finishing another well deserved 2nd place.

04.24.12: Pendlebury Takes 2nd at Roanoke Twilight:
ROANOKE, VA - April 24th, 2012: "It rained up until the start of the Pro 1-2 race and after last year I wanted to beat 6th place, came a little shy placing 8th, " said Jeremy Grimm. "Jeff Pendlebury on the other hand almost repeated a win. Last year as a cat 3 he lapped the field with one rider and this year in the Pro race was in the winning break of 4. Once Jeff pulled back a lead group by himself for more than 3 laps, everyone's eyes were on him. Jeff ended up getting behind all 3 of his break companions after the last turn and chased within inches of the win for 2nd place.

04.21.12: Forbes 3rd in OSRS Lynchburg Race:
LYNCHBURGN, OH - April 21st, 2012: Sometimes the long shot pays off, sometimes it doesn’t and your teammate picks up the pieces. John Gatch and O’Brien Forbes Cleveland Clinic Sports Health/RGF Sports faced stiff competition and even stiffer winds as the two went up against a strong field at the 5th stop on the Ohio Spring Road Series this past Saturday. Teams from Bissell/Nuovo, Bandwidth, and others outnumbered the duo so Gatch took drastic measures bridging up to an early break at mile 3. 65 miles later the break, 5 strong and still containing Gatch, saw their lead eroding in the final kilometers of the race. With one Bissel/Nuvo rider just up the road and the gap to the field at 20 seconds it was do-or-die. Unfortunately for Gatch the break was caught at 700 meters, however Forbes attentively countered the catch and took 2nd in field sprint. As Forbes stood on the podium Gatch was overheard saying, “I need a sandwich.”

03.18.12: Grimm takes 2nd in OSS opener:
Mt. Sterling, OH, March 18th, 2012: Jeremy Grimm podiums at the first Ohio Spring Road Series race of 2012. Spring fever came early to the Midwest. With mild temperatures, and people eager to race, this first of eight races in “OSRS” drew out almost 70 in the 1/2/3 field . Among the large field were Cleveland Clinic Sports Health/RGF Sport riders John Gatch, Jeremy Grimm, O’Brien Forbes, and Jeff Pendelbury. Knowing the 5 circuits of the nearly 13 mile flat, windy course would be fast CCSH/RGF went on the early attack with Gatch animating the race early followed by O’Brien Forbes. “Our goal was to be in every move and to keep our big guns [Grimm and Pendlebury] as fresh as possible for the final parts of the race,” related Forbes. Pendlebury seemed omnipresent whenever a serious move rolled away. CCSH/RGF and team Panther eventually sprung the winning move with 1.5 laps to go, but with only 3 riders – Chris Uberti Panther, Jeff Pendlebury CCSH/RGF, and a Team Spin rider – there was not enough horsepower to hold off the large, fast moving peloton. Average speed for the 67 mile race was 26mph The group first swallowed up the Team Spin rider then just caught Pendlebury with 400m to go on a difficult uphill then flat finish Uberti did hang on for the win. Forbes, sensing that the catch of his compatriot was inevitable, gamely took Jeremy Grimm and John Gatch to the front and lead out his teammates for the mass dash to the line. Gatch was squeezed off the road, finishing 14th, but Grimm did an amazing effort taking it from a long way out and holding on to win the field sprint for 2nd place.

01.16.12: Chocolate Milk Gives Athletes Leg-up...:
AUSTIN, Texas — Not only does chocolate milk taste good, but two recent studies from The University of Texas at Austin show that it’s also the ideal post-workout recovery drink.

"Serious and amateur athletes alike enjoyed physical recovery benefits when they drank low-fat chocolate milk after a vigorous workout," said Dr. John Ivy, lead researcher on the studies and chair of The University of Texas at Austin College of Education’s Department of Kinesiology and Health Education. "The advantages for the study participants were better body composition in the form of more muscle and less fat, improved times while working out and overall better physical shape than peers who consumed sports beverages that just contained carbohydrates."
